As you’ve probably noticed, the world is now undergoing some very trying times. Not only in the religious sector, but in the political and economic as well. But all the trouble the world is now experiencing has, after all, been predicted in the Bible; and so it doesn’t really surprise us. As a matter of fact, if these things were not occurring we’d be tempted to think the Bible wasn’t true.
Notwithstanding, there are some within the visible church who continue to scoff, as if the end of all things is not nigh. Their argument is, that, despite the numerous prognostications made by Christians in the past as to the imminency of the Great Day, all things continue as they were from the beginning of the creation. In essence, they believe there will be a prolongation of this “present evil age,” which according to them will last tens of thousands of years–perhaps longer.
Peter’s prediction of last-days scoffers is now being fulfilled before our very eyes. Many have seen this, and have awoken to the fact that, yes, we are living in the last days; that the predicted apostasy is now here; and that Antichrist, the final opposer of Christ and His saints, is hiding somewhere behind the curtains of world government, waiting for his cue to enter the stage as a man of peace, who shall offer the world a phony “Messianic” deliverance from the bondage under which the nations now groan.
This is a time, above all, to study our Bibles and see what the Spirit of Christ is saying. We realize that it has long been the habit of scoffers to claim that Pre-Millennialists are working to “self fulfill” Bible prophecy. But is this a fair or even credible assertion? As less than 10% of the political leaders of the world are Christians, it is passing strange that we, who constitute the powerless minority, should bring these things to pass with such precision. No. We must not accept this lie that Christians are themselves orchestrating the fulfillment of Biblical prophecy. It is just another ploy to lure more souls into destruction. It is another trick to keep men’s eyes away from truths of the Bible, that they may follow after fallible men, and thus inherit damnation.
At this time Preterism is in a slump; it knows not what to do. Its message of “peace! peace!” when there is no peace (Jeremiah 6: 14, 8: 11) fails to bring assurance. Its past dreams of a utopian society based on promulgation of the Gospel, adulterated in such a fashion as to make its acceptance more widespread, are being exposed as erroneous with each passing day. Will man, with all his inherent depravity, ever bring about the promised kingdom? Is it possible that he, even in his most sanctified state, can convert all men to Christianity? This view of a Christless Millennium, brought about by man’s own power, and without the sanction of Jesus Christ Himself, is starting to crumble into nothing. The death-knell of Preterism has sounded.
As end-time events unfold, more and more Christians are seeking relevance in Biblical prophecy, and leaving behind any theory, however cunningly arranged, that teaches the fulfillment of “all things” 2,000 years ago. The Preterist power-house, first erected by apostates for the purpose of warring against the pure Gospel, is becoming weaker and weaker. Its Gammadims, its mighty men, are forsaking the citadel before they find themselves caught in the great calamity. What calamity is that? It is the coming tribulation, which will forever falsify the claim that “all things continue as they were from the beginning of the creation.”
Despite what Preterists may assert, the world was once involved in a universal flood, which destroyed all flesh save eight individuals. Before Noah and his family entered the ark, Noah preached for 120 years warning men to repent before it became too late. Yet the people did not listen to him. They were busy with the things of “this life.” They bought and sold, married and gave in marriage, until the day that Noah entered into the Ark; and then seven days later the fountains of the deep were broken up, the windows of heaven opened, and the world immersed in the Great Deluge.
That was a deluge by water. And God promised never to destroy all flesh with a flood again. But another deluge, and this not by water, is promised in the Word of God. It is the deluge by fire. Peter, writing to the saints, warns against those who in the last days shall cultivate precisely the same attitude as that of the Antediluvians. But be it known, he says, that the world was once involved in a general calamity; and a repeat occurrence will happen at the “end of the age.” (see 2 Peter 3: 5-7). The question to now ask is: has the end of the age arrived?
Our answer is yes. And we base our conclusion upon the infallible word of God. The Bible does not teach that the present order of things will continue forever. This is a delusion invented to lull men into slumber, that they souls may become prey to Satan’s wiles. If you are stuck in the world’s way of thinking, now is the time to disillusion yourself, or forever be lost. This is not a time for doubting. It is not a time to continue in our own ways, and to ignore what God has written for our instruction. It is a time to prepare for a coming tribulation, and to fill our lamps with precious oil, that we may be found worthy to escape those things and to stand before the Son of Man (Luke 21: 36).
Do you love Jesus? Does He live within your heart? If so, then continue in your faith, and remain steadfast unto the end; for perseverence alone will ensure your salvation. But if you are one who scoffs at the doctrine of the Second Advent, tremble, sinner, tremble! For thou shall not be found guiltless in the day when the Master returns. “When the Son of Man cometh, shall He find faith on the earth?” (Luke 18: 8).
Mankind’s “imag”ination is destroying the earth(land, air, water, vegetation, creatures) and perverting that which is Spirit(Light, Life, Truth, Love, Peace, Hope, Faith, Grace, Miracles,etc.);-(
