Conversation With Fred DeRuvo

Fred_DeRuvoIn this brand-new 33-minute podcast, Brian Simmons interviews Dispensationalist author and speaker Fred DeRuvo on the subject of Replacement Theology.  In recent years, the doctrine of “supersessionism” has re-gained some ground within the professing church, pulling many back into a Romanistic mindset which seeks to build the kingdom now –  apart from the presence of the King!  DeRuvo traces Replacement Theology to its earliest beginnings, then deals with some of the key issues at stake in the controversy between a restored Israel and those who teach a replacement paradigm.

The Orange Mailman: Millennial Musings

In this brand-new 33 minute podcast, Brian Simmons interviews Darrin (a.k.a. The Orange Mailman) concerning one of the most intriguing topics of endtime prophecy  –   the Millennium.  Darrin holds that the “new heavens and earth” of Rev. 21 are the same as those mentioned in Isaiah 65 & 66.  He sees the New Jerusalem as descending at the beginning of the Millennium, and not after the Great White Throne Judgment.  Other subjects discussed in this audio include Antichrist, the Great Tribulation, and the rise of “Mystery Babylon.”

Darrin has written a large number of articles dealing with Bible prophecy.  To visit his blog, go to http://theorangemailman.spaces.live.com.

How To Refute Preterism: Part 3: “The Forerunner of The Kingdom”

In Episode 3 of this new audio series, Brian Simmons continues to demonstrate the fundamental errors of Preterist theology.  This time he takes a closer look at the necessary condition of Jewish national repentance, which will alone bring about the awaited parousia and consequent fulfillment of the Messianic prophecies.  Also, the very important (and often overlooked) ministry of John the Baptist is discussed, in its particular bearing on the second coming of Christ and ”day of the Lord.”

How To Refute Preterism: Part 2: “A-N Spells Conditional”

Brian Simmons has launched a brand new audio series entitled “How To Refute Preterism.”  In this second episode, he talks about the use of conditional clauses in Preterist time-texts —  placing particular emphasis on Matthew 10: 23, 16: 28, 23: 39, and 24: 34.  This podcast will be found essential to a right understanding of what Christ and His inspired apostles meant when they placed the parousia in a first-century context.

How To Refute Preterism: Part 1: “Smash Preterism Now”

Brian Simmons has launched a new audio series entitled “How To Refute Preterism,” in which he showcases the inconsistency and foolishness of Preterist eschatology.  In this first episode of the series, Brian shows that an A.D. 70 parousia means an A.D. 70 resurrection — proving that Partial Preterism is wrong on timing, while Hyper-Preterism is wrong on nature.  As these two systems of Preterism cancel each other out, the obvious conclusion is that the Futurist view of Christ’s coming is correct!

Charles H. Welch– Audio Lectures On The Second Coming

The Kingdom Was At Hand

Throughout the years, Bible students have wrestled over statements in the New Testament which represent Christ’s return as being “at hand” in the first century.  Liberals and skeptics have claimed that because “Christ never returned when He said He would,” the Bible must be a hoax.

During the 1800’s, however, a system of theology named Preterism set out to answer these objections.  Yet due to its logical inconsistencies, as well as rampant “spiritualizing” of hundreds of Old and New Testament prophetic texts, the system failed to adequately address the issues concerned.

In this 20-minute podcast, Brian Simmons examines the imminency of the kingdom from a Dispensational perspective, and shows that the “soon” coming of Christ, as alluded to in the New Testament Scriptures, was conditional on the national repentance of Israel.   Because Israel never repented in the first century, the second advent never happened, and is therefore future.
