In Matthew 24, our Lord speaks of a time when the Jews would have to flee from the midst of Jerusalem. This was predicted to occur when the “abomination of desolation” was revealed (Matt. 24: 15-18). Despite the opinion of many, it seems to me that Christ is not speaking of the destruction of Jerusalem in A.D. 70, but of a future series of events which will occur after the Jews have been gathered back to their own land.
What is this “abomination of desolation?” After diligent study in the Old Testament prophets, I strongly believe that Christ is referring to none other than Antichrist, who was typified by Nebuchadnezzar king of Babylon. Keep in mind that a true exposition of Christ’s Olivet Discourse must take into account the context of the Old Testament prophets. And there are plenty of evidences that confirm the view that Antichrist is the “abomination” from which all Jews who reside in the city of Jerusalem will be forced to flee.
A few Scriptures will be needed to bring this out more clearly. First of all, the perpetuity of the Jewish nation is clearly implied in Jeremiah 31: 35-36. Thus all Old Testament prophecies ultimately look forward to Israel’s redemption (Jer. 33: 25-26). This redemption will not be completed until Babylon and its “king” are destroyed (Jer. 50: 18-20).
Who is this king? Certainly none other than Antichrist. See Isaiah 13, and especially Isaiah 14: 3-7, which unmistakedly references Antichrist as “king of Babylon.” Antichrist is also mentioned in Daniel 9 as “the prince that shall come” (Dan. 9: 26). This prince shall destroy the city and the sanctuary, after making a seven-year compact with the Jews (Dan. 9: 27). In the midst of the week (that is, after the first three-and-a-half years are ended) he shall cause the sacrifice and oblation to cease (Daniel 12: 11) and will probably have an image of himself placed in the temple (cf. Rev. 13: 14-15).
Once again, see Isaiah 14: 13-14, where the prophet predicts Antichrist as seating himself in the temple of God at Jerusalem. Then compare with 2 Thessalonians 2: 4, and you’ll have a perfect picture of what shall transpire during the last half-week before Jesus Christ’s return from heaven.
More confirmation may be found in Jeremiah 30: 6-9, where the prophet speaks of the “time of trouble” (=Great Tribulation) as issuing in the Messianic reign of Jesus Christ. Prior to the Lord’s coming, however, the temple will be overrun with enemies (Jer. 51: 51-53). It is then that the inhabitants of Jerusalem shall have to flee (Jer. 50: 28; 51: 45). For the “threshing” will commence, in which Babylon will be brought to the dust (Jer. 51: 33-35).
I think this identifies Babylon as the final state of Jerusalem under Antichrist. See Zechariah 11: 15-17, which contains a valuable key to the understanding of these prophecies. The “idle shepherd” is that same “king” into whose hands the Jews shall be delivered (Zech. 11: 6). But before the Lord comes to destroy Antichrist with the brightness of His coming (2 Thess. 2: 8), an “assembly of great nations from the north country” will be gathered against Jerusalem to battle (Jer. 50: 9; Zech 14: 2 ff.; Rev. 17: 16).
It is because of these great affliction that Jesus Christ told the Jews to flee when the abomination of desolation is revealed (Jeremiah 50: 8; cf. Rev. 18: 4). All of these Scriptures tie in perfectly with the coming of Jesus Christ to rule and reign over the entire world. See how this last great battle (=Armageddon) falls out. Jesus Christ returns to the Mount of Olives from whence He ascended (Zech. 14: 4; Acts 1: 11), the enemies of God are destroyed (Zech. 12: 8-9), and the kingdom is restored to Israel (Jer. 31: 35-40).
For obvious reasons, few if any, of these Scriptures can be understood as having an A.D. 70 fulfillment. Wherefore we must be very cautious in adopting any “preteristic” interpretations based on allegorical and metaphorical readings of the Sacred texts.
To sum it up, I think it is obvious that, while the events of A.D. 70 may have had some typical significance, they are not the true fulfillment of Christ’s inspired predictions. Just like the Antichrist prophecies which Jeremiah spoke of Nebuchadnezzar, nearer events were used to point to ones more distant. Recognizing this prophetic principle will allow us to understand more clearly the nature and timing of eschatological fulfillment.

The Abomination of Desolation
The false prophet ascends out of the bottomless pit (Re.11:7, Re.17:8, Ps.28:1). The bottomless pit is opened at the Fifth TRUMPET, the First Woe (Re.9:1-2, Re.9:12).
I believe that the false prophet will ascend from the bottomless pit 1335 days prior to the Seventh TRUMPET (1 Thess.4:16-17), 75 days prior to the ENFORCEMENT of the abomination of desolation.
The start of the three and a half year tribulation under the beasts of Revelation chapter 13 will occur once the abomination that makes desolate is SET UP (Lk.21:20, Dan.11:31, Dan.12:11 below), and then ENFORCED.
The abomination that makes desolate is a law that will be enacted that will cause that as many as will not worship the image of the beast should be killed (Re.13:15, Re.11:7, Re.12:17, Re.17:6, Dan.8:24, Dan.12:;6-7, Dan.7:21, Dan.7:25, Re.13:7, Re.16:6, Matt.24:9).
The law will be SET UP 1290 days (Dan.12:11 below) prior to the sounding of the Seventh, and final, Trumpet (1 Thess.4:16-17). Thirty days after the law is SET UP (1260 days, or three and a half years, prior to the Seventh Trumpet), the law will be ENFORCED.
When the law is SET UP (Dan.12:11 below) that will be the time that the 144,000 are to flee (Matt.24:15-22).
The 144,000 are protected during the three and a half years of tribulation (Re.12:14) when Satan goes after the rest of the seed of the woman (Re.12:17).
Lk.21:20 And when ye shall see Jerusalem compassed with armies, then know that the DESOLATION (Dan.11:31, Dan.12:11 below) thereof is nigh.
Dan.11:31 And arms shall stand on his part, and they shall pollute the sanctuary of strength, and shall take away the daily sacrifice, and they shall place the ABOMINATION THAT MAKETH DESOLATE (Dan.12:11 below, Lk.21:20 above).
Dan.12:11 And from the time that the daily sacrifice shall be taken away, and the abomination that maketh desolate SET UP (Dan.11:31 above), there shall be A THOUSAND TWO HUNDRED AND NINETY DAYS (1290 days).

There is some food for thought.
I checked it out and the blogs about the Bible prophecy concerning Iraq and 9/11 being in the Bible are accurate and not a hoax!.
How did they discover this in the Bible? I have seen those passages several times in the Bible and skipped over them because they made no sense to me. After watching the you tube video on line the lights have turned on brighter than the sun! This is truly a prophecy about Iraq and also 911. Blogs actually under-state the power of
this Bible discovery.
Why has this not yet become national news? Is Satan trying to stop this? I almost chickened out from watching the you tube video after feeling a negative pressure telling me that this was a hoax and I should get out quick!
That negative feeling turned out to be false, had I given in to that pressure and ran away then I would not have
awakened to this marvelous news.

Response: The seventh trumpet has to do with the wrath of God, so it is not the last trumpet refered to in 1 Thes.4:16-17 because that has to do with the Resurrection and catching away. Just because it is the last trumpet out of those seven doesn’t mean that it is referring to the “Last Trumpet.”

Response: The 144,000 are from the tribes of Israel who come to the knowledge that Jesus is the Christ. They are also referred to as the First Fruits to God out of Israel. These 144,000 are not the “Woman” of chapter 12, but the woman gives birth to them. These are those who receive the seal of God on their foreheads. The woman who is clothed with the sun, with moon under her feet and a crown of twelve stars (Israel), she is the one who is cared for for a time, times and a half a time (3 1/2). The 144,000 are caught up to God’s throne.
The antichrist (1st beast) will in deed proclaim himself to be God or anything that is called God, but he himself is not that abomination. The abomination is a literal image, which is mentioned in Mt. 24:15 and Rev.13:14-15.
“He ordered them to set up an image in honor of the beast who was wounded by the sword and yet lived. He was given power to give breath to the image of the first beast, so that it could speak and cause all who refused to worship the image to be killed.”
According to the verse above, the inhabitants of the earth make an image of the first beast, so then it is the image that is made of him that is the abomination that causes the desolation and not the beast himself himself. Of that image it is said that he will set it up in the holy place and when the Jews see this, they will then know that he is not their messiah, which will then cause the desolation of Jerusalem.

Of all the suffering of being used, violated, and tormented and therefore shedding the light of truth unto all people worldwide that our Saviour is soon to appear (in the clouds) before every human being, either alive or dead. Every eye shall behold His Majesty.
Christ’s Kingdom will not be set-up on this EarthUNTIL The 1000 years are fulfilled!The Abomination that “Desolates”: (desolate means: uninhabited,destitute of inhabitants; unfit for habitation, laid waste). The most perfected Luciferean/Satanic Counterfeit System manifested thru the ages; that has completely and utterly opposed the true and genuine teachings of Almighty God; and the Antichrist Pope will set his dwelling place in Jerusalem declaring him-SELF above all that is called or worshiped as God. Isaiah 61:

I would like to share just a few thoughts with you if I may. The Sabbath, we are given 6 days to work, but the 7th DAY is (declared Holy and Sanctified) as The “DAY OF REST”! No “OTHER DAY” has been given; unto “ALL” generations! It shall be a continuation thru eternity never ceasing (Isaiah 66:22-24) & (Matthew 24:20). It would actually be impossible for it to be “every day” or just “any day” or SUNday (1st day of the week). If you accept any other teaching other than God’s Word; you have already unknowingly adjoined yourself to the same fold as have all other religions Beginning With CONstintine in 321 (changing times and laws) if one really thinks about it. Consider also, everything on this Earth is a lie, deception and in total opposition to God and his Son Jesus Christ. When do almost all worldly events take place? Friday night-Saturday night. The Sabbath is NOT my focus; but, you need to give consideration unto it’s importance and significance being the 4th commandment. The breaking of the law is sin, and the wages of sin is death!The 6th days of work and the 7th Day of rest is a “foreshadow” of the millennial timeframe of the 1000 years between the “First resurrection” and the “Second resurrection”; (Matthew 13:23 & 30), (John 5:28 & 29), (Acts 24:15) thus, the Earth shall keep it’s 1000 year/7000th year Sabbath. Just as Israel was made to keep Sabbath twice! (70 X 7= 490 years) back to back, the exact amount of times in the (New Testament) we are to forgive our brother (70X7) just as the (Lord forgave Israel His Brother). This marriage feast is when the Bridegroom comes and takes His bride home. During His appearance and Second Coming all the wicked shall be destroyed and the Earth uninhabited. ll Thess. 1:9 & 10. During this 1000 years there shall not be one single human being alive upon this Earth. (Revelation 20) & (Jeremiah 4:23-26). Heaven AND Earth shall both be dissolved and pass away( II Peter 3:10-13), the new Heaven and new Earth (Revelation 21:1-8).This surely is not being taught today and certainly needs to be. God has given (Matthew 24:15-22) as the “alarming and alerting” sign for this most least understood prophetic event. The VERY YEAR of the commencing of this FINAL 3 1/2 year (tribulation); The “Abomination of Desolation” (desolates); begins the day they set this Next and Final Antichrist Pope in God’s Holy City Jerusalem as dictator of planet Earth; for her final 1335 days (Daniel 12:12). This is the time it’s wound shall then be healed. The Virgin Mary’s time will come and her Immaculate heart will now triumph; (this is what the Catholic Church teaches). The proof of this healing of the wound (received during the Reformation); time is referred to as (first time) spoken by Daniel; (Daniel 11:45. The (second time) included the very specific next verse of Daniel 12:1, Stating: “at THAT Time”! At What time? That time is the same time stated again (3rd time) in ll Thes.2: 1-8 referred to by Paul. These 3 are the same timeline and event that God is “Announcing the Second Coming of Jesus Christ” in all His Majestic Power and Glory, 1335 days after this event!. In fact, Paul was brought before the council, Felix, Festus, Agrippa, and Julius Caesar for his very life because of the separation and division that was so strong between the Pharisees and the Saducees; for the Pharisees (which Paul was) believed in the Resurrection and the Saducees did not! (Acts 23:6 & 8) (24:15) & (26:7& 8). This Abomination of Desolation, (Abomination that Desolates) is an allegory of the same Little Horn Power in Daniel that rose up during (1260 years/Dark ages); only this time condensed into a literal 3 1/2 years= (1260/days)=(the short space)! This, Earth shattering, signifiying, alerting, ONE and “ONLY” God given signal announces the Imminent return of our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ; 1335 days AFTER this “MAN Of Sin (Pope) is set up in Jerusalem!
