While most students consider the growth of the church as an organic body, here the emphasis is placed on the church as an institution. A study of the historical order of New Testament writings reveals new truths involving the progression of doctrine during the apostolic period, and the church’s growth from “babyhood” under the Judaic elements, to ultimate “manhood,” when Christianity became distinct from Judaism.
